What We Do
SPNKK promotes culturally appropriate community organizing with an emphasis on strengthening Negrito communities. SPNKK focuses on the following areas:
ADVOCACY
SPNKK assists Negrito communities to develop a national agenda focusing on the issues of self determination, rights to ancestral territories, access to culturally appropriate education, and promotion of traditional medicines.
CAPACITY-BUILDING
At SPNKK’s core is its focus on strengthening its partner communities through organizational development and leadership skills enhancement.
ECOLOGICAL-CULTURAL RESTORATION
The use of ecological-cultural restoration as an approach to the revival of damaged environments that highlights the natural links between the Aytas’ rich and diverse indigenous knowledge and their forests.
NETWORKING
Forging new alliances and strengthening existing ones is crucial to SPNKK’s mission. SPNKK establishes trusting partnerships with development organizations that are aligned with its values and goals.
